The Adaptive Filter can be switched between "Fast" mode and "Precise" mode. Fast mode is used when the microphone position changes frequently, e.g. in conference systems with multiple microphones that are switched. Precise mode is used when the microphone position is fixed, e.g. in a pulpit with a stable acoustic environment. The Adaptive Filter converges at a slower rate, thus effectively suppressing more reflections. Up to an additional 12dB of gain can be achieved before acoustic feedback occurs, depending on the acoustic environment and the selected mode of operation.
The Feedback Suppressor also has a built-in automatic mixer for both microphone inputs. In many situations, such as at a lectern, podium or conference table, the use of two microphones can better capture the voice of a moving speaker, which often increases the risk of acoustic feedback. In view of this problem, the automatic mixer in a feedback suppressor will automatically reduce the gain of the microphone with the weaker signal input, while increasing the gain of the other microphone with the stronger signal input. In this way, it tracks the moving speaker and produces optimal sound clarity. At the same time, since the total amount of gain is kept constant, the maximum gain margin is maintained without generating acoustic feedback. The Auto Mixer function works even if the feedback suppressor is deactivated.
